Safeguarding
"learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow." Isaiah 1.17
We take safeguarding seriously in our churches and diocese. Throughout the bible we encounter a God who has a special care for the vulnerable and we as a church must also make strenuous efforts to ensure that harm does not come to vulnerable people.
It is duty that we all share to make our churches as safe as they can be. As such if anyone has a safeguarding concern they must report it to either a member of clergy or the relevant Parish Safeguarding Officer.
Alternatively, if you have a concern you can contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Team.
As parishes we are committed to following best safeguarding practice as set out in the Parish Safeguarding Handbook. Everyone in the parishes should familiarise themselves with this document, especially Chapter 7 which sets out how safeguarding concerns must be reported.
