About Us

We are a group of five parishes with six churches.  Until relatively recently each pretty much did their own thing with minimal reference to the others.  However, times and circumstances change.  We recognise that it is not only necessary to work together because our clergy serve multiple congregations and communities, but it is desirable to order our ministry in such a way.  We are richer as churches when we recognise that we are called into relationships far beyond the walls of our buildings.

Our churches are marked by the following characteristics:

• Inclusive.  We believe that God is calling all people into relationship with him and each other without preconditions.  We welcome people of all backgrounds, races, sexual orientations and gender identities.
• Collaborative.  Ministry is not just done by people who wear dog collars.  All are being called to by God to join in with his work and mission.  Our churches could not run without many wonderful lay people living out active ministries.  Its not all about the vicars (thank God).
• All Age.  If church is not suitable for people who are not yet retired something is wrong.  Children are welcome at any service and we delight that their presence disrupts us.  Currently our congregations are predominantly older, however we whole-heartedly embrace the diocesan ambition to "grow younger and more diverse."
